Welcome to Troop 418!

Boy Scout Troop 418, part of the Boy Scouts of America, is located in Hilliard, Ohio. (A North West suburb of Columbus, Ohio)  We are a youth-led organization focused on teaching young men the skills they will need throughout their lives.   We encourage our youth to become leaders through Troop positions which help them develop life skills within and outside of scouting.

Troop 418 is an active Troop. We plan monthly camping trips and attend a week of summer camp each year.  Out Troop is also active in giving back to the community with our annual involvement with Toys for Tots and other service activities throughout the year. Our Troop attends Philmont Scout Ranch in Cimmaron, New Mexico every other year.  Philmont is the premier national high adventure camp for Scouts.

Troop 418 has been in existence for 22 years.  Since this time we have had the success of 23 Eagle Scouts. We meet at Hilliard Presbyterian Church every Monday night during the school year at 7pm.

Feel free to attend one of our weekly meetings and check us out!

Troop 418–

Time to have fun getting together again for a great gaming experience! Troop 418 is having its Gaming Weekend at Camp Hugh Taylor Birch in Yellow Springs once again, February 28 – March 1. Bring your gaming rig, your games, TVs, and your enthusiasm as we enjoy the camaraderie of your fellow Scouts. Feel free to bring your board games, role-playing games, or card games as well. We'll also get outdoors and explore the surroundings of John Bryan — some serious hiking and orienteering as we visit Clifton Gorge.

And we'll be staying indoors at the beautiful main cabin at Camp Birch: The Turner Conference Center! This is usually one of the best attended events, so don't miss it!

NOTE:  You assume full responsibility of any electronics you bring to the camp out. While we have had a good track record of nothing being damaged, we want to be clear that the Troop has no responsibility.

Wild Blue Yonder Campout @ Wright-Patterson Air Force Base / Air and Space Museum @ Wright-Patterson Air Force Base
Mar 20 @ 5:30 pm – Mar 22 @ 12:00 pm

Scouts and Scouters of Troop 418–

Come soar with us as we travel to Wright-Patterson Air Force Base for our Campout in the Wild Blue Yonder! During this camp out, we will take a tour of the awesome National Air and Space Museum (one of the biggest aviation museums in the world), enjoy good pizza and bowling at Kittyhawk Lanes on the base, and just enjoy fellowship in a very unique environment!

** Please RSVP via TroopTrack by next Monday, February 10th, 2020 **

WPAFB Requires Early Registration. Since this campout is happening on a federal base, they need to have some information well in advance of our scheduled date in order to meet their security requirements. Thus, we ask that Scouts sign up now for this camp out. If you strongly or surely think that you will go, please RSVP via TroopTrack ASAP! This will allow me to give the base personnel the names of those attending and for us to pay the per scout fee required. (If you are at the upcoming Troop Meeting, you can add your name to the signup sheet in person as well and I will consolidate.)

I apologize for the extremely short notice, but I would like to make sure that we have all our paperwork ready after the upcoming Troop Meeting (Monday, February 10th) so that we have ample time to meet the stated deadlines of the base for submitting this information. I don't think we'll have trouble reserving the site, but better safe than sorry!

Special Note for Adults. For any adult who is planning on attending the campout, we will need your full name and driver's license number in order to register you to be on base. They run a check to approve all who will be on base for the weekend. If you can't give me this information at the upcoming Troop Meeting, you may also sign up via TroopTrack, but please email me your driver's license number ASAP as the base requires this information as well. If you do not give me a driver's license number, you will not be able to attend.

This is DEFINITELY going to be a fun and exciting campout!

Departing:  Friday, March 20, 2020 5:30 p.m.  (Hilliard Presbyterian Church)

Returning:  Sunday, March 22, 2020 Noon (Ackerman Eye Center, 4555 Cemetery Road, Hilliard – Please be flexible in the morning!)
